Safeguarding & Code of Conduct
The standards we keep, and what you can expect from us, at every KSAL session.
Our commitment
At KSAL, we are committed to creating a safe, positive, and supportive environment for every child, family, and coach involved in our sessions.

Our standards
These guidelines help make sure every KSAL session is enjoyable, respectful, and safe for participants, parents, carers, and coaches.
Code of conduct
For participants
While you are here:
- Be yourself and welcome others.
- Be respectful to others and take care of equipment and the space.
- Try your best and have fun.
- Listen to your coach.
- Remind a parent or carer to bring the right kit, food, and drinks with you.
- Please do not wander off or leave without telling a member of staff.
- Speak out if you feel worried — reach out to someone you trust.
Code of conduct
For parents and carers
Where we refer to parents/carers, we mean parents and carers inclusively. The term children/child describes any person under the age of 18.
The essentials
- Make sure your child has the right kit, food, and drink for the session.
- Ensure your child arrives to sessions on time and is picked up promptly. Inform us if you’re running late or if your child is going home with someone else.
- Make sure your child wears any protective kit provided.
- Be respectful of everyone participating, including coaches, volunteers, young people, and other parents.
- Talk to us if you have any concerns about any part of your child’s involvement.
Behaviour
- Take time to talk to your child about their sport or activity and what they want to achieve while taking part.
- Behave positively and encourage your child and their peers.
- Use social media and apps responsibly when communicating on our channels.
- Encourage your child to play by the rules.
- Ensure that your child understands their code of conduct.
As a parent, you have the right to:
- Be assured that your child is safeguarded during their time with us.
- See any of our policies and procedures at any time.
- Know who the safeguarding lead is and have their contact details.
- Know what training and qualifications our staff have.
- Be informed of problems or concerns that involve or affect your child.
- Be informed if your child is injured and see records of any incidents.
- Have any concerns you may raise listened to and responded to.
We expect all parents and carers to follow the behaviours and requests set out in this code. If any parent behaves in a way that contradicts any of the points above, we will address the issue and aim to resolve it promptly.
Continued issues and repeated breaches of this code may result in us regrettably asking your child to leave the activity, event, or club permanently — something we never want to do.

Keeping children safe
Keeping children safe is at the heart of everything we do at KSAL.
KSAL maintains safeguarding policies and procedures across our clubs, sessions and holiday activities. Staff and volunteers are subject to appropriate safer-recruitment checks and safeguarding training relevant to their roles.
